Fulfillment of the goals of the development plan in about 75 percent, the positioning of the 'Fall in love with Villavicencio' strategy and the permanent promotion in public events, were some of the aspects highlighted by the Council, in plenary session, regarding the work that the Villavicencio Tourism Institute (ITV) has been advancing.
In his speech, councilor Felipe Carreño recognized the work being done by the ITV team of professionals and recommended increasing efforts on specific issues such as making the city visible to international tourism and projecting it as a friendly capital for road cycling or MTB.
"I was seeing on the networks what they are doing with the Fall in love with Villavicencio campaign and they are not doing it badly, they have made a significant effort and have addressed many issues, what is being done is interesting," indicated the councilor.
In turn, Councilman Ricardo Gómez supported the strengthening of the Llanero Festival, as one of the most important events in the capital of Metense, taking into account the economic impact it generates.
"Here we from the Council will be attentive to support what you consider appropriate, because this Llanero Festival has to be the event of the Villavicencio Mayor's Office, and here we all include ourselves, the municipal Administration in the hands of the Villavicencio Council", said.
The director of the ITV, Magnolia Cagüeñas, thanked the willingness and contributions of the councilors in the task of continuing to empower tourism as the engine of the economy in this part of the country.
